Private, spacious Guest Suite (BR, LR, Bath, Kitchenette)Enjoy our bright and spacious guest Suite located on the lower, walkout level of our newer home, situated on a quiet cul de sac in the northern Hartford suburbs. Beautifully decorated with a private bedroom, bath, kitchenette, and living room. Step outside your living room to relax on the garden patio. Only 4 miles from Bradley airport and 20 minutes to Hartford or Springfield. Minutes to West Hartford and area colleges. You won’t find a cleaner accommodation anywhere.We pride ourselves on providing you a spacious, clean and welcoming space you’ll want to return to and relax in after your day’s activities.The Space:The Guest Suite is located in the lower level of our home with plenty of windows and access to the back patio garden, which you’re welcome to enjoy. Comfy bathrobes and relaxing recliners await you. The suite includes a living room with a sofa, 2 chairs, a flat screen TV with Roku and internet, and a breakfast eating area. Off of the private living room is your private bedroom, private bath, shared kitchenette, and access to the outside back yard patio. The space is centrally heated and cooled for your comfort and on your own zone. The large bedroom includes a queen-size bed, closet, dresser, luggage racks, iron and ironing board, white noise machine, and a desk and chair. The private bath includes a large walk-in shower and vanity, with comfy towels and “green” toiletries, if you’ve forgotten to bring your own, as well as bathrobes, and a first aide kit. The kitchenette includes a large sink, dishwasher, filtered water, small fridge, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee machine, dishes, utensils, and linens. Also provided are complimentary organic coffee, travel cups, and misc beverages. Once a day, we’ll need to travel through the kitchenette to an adjoining area to feed our pet parrots. We make every attempt to enter this shared space when you’re out.Our newly built home is located in a completed community in the northern Hartford suburbs, with wonderful views of the Berkshire hills to the north. We’re at the end of a quiet cul de sac with plenty of parking.Guest Access to the Suite:Access to the Guest suite is through the main house, and down a set of stairs. There is also access to the outside back patio area from the guest suite living room. We’d be happy to help you with your luggage when you arrive. To keep the outside stuff outside, we leave our outside shoes at the door and ask you to do the same.Guest Interaction:We’re happy to help with recommendations, directions, or share travel stories, or even show you around the area. You might only see us when you are entering or leaving the home from the main level. During your stay, we’ll generally only enter the Guest suite to attend to our birds or to clean the space. Otherwise, we can be as scarce or as interactive as you like. It’s up to you.Our Neighborhood:Our home is located in a cul de sac in a quiet newer neighborhood in the northern suburbs of Hartford. We’re 4 miles from Bradley (Hartford/Springfield) airport, 20 minutes to downtown Hartford or Springfield, and about 20 minutes to West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square and all its restaurants. Our home is also very convenient to the Windsor area Corporate business parks. We’re also convenient to the i91 and i84 highways.Getting Around:Although having a car to get around our location is the most convenient option, there is a local bus stop a half mile from our home where bus #52 will take you to downtown Hartford in about a half hour. From the same stop, bus #54 takes you east on Day Hill Rd to the Poquonock Ave Bus stop where there is an express bus to Hartford weekdays. Certain corporate office parks are actually quite close to our home. Taxi & Uber service also operates in our area.Your Hosts:I’m an IT Geek by day, with a career in software development. My partner Rafael is a nurse. He and I live in our dream home in a lovely rural area just north of Hartford in a newer community, which we’d love to share with you! My partner and I keep busy with home improvements, working in our gardens in the summer, and leaving our lovely new home every chance we get to see the world. We love to share travel experiences. My hobby is choral singing and my partner keeps rescued and adopted parrots and other birds. As far as a motto or rule to live by, I guess that would be “The Golden Rule”.
